Sibu Jaya, located about 26km from Sibu town.  It is also a mere 1 km from Sibu Airport. Currently Sibu Jaya house 4,986 houses, 174 commercial and 96 industrial units serving a population of 25,000 people.

Sibu Jaya development is based on the concept of a self-contained township and spans an overall gross area of approximately 566.56 hectares (1,400 acres).

Since it birth in the 1990’s, 106 hectares out of 566.56 hectares earmarked for development under the masterplan has already been developed with a gross development value of RM470 million.

The development is centrally located along the Pan-Borneo highway, which is the trunk road that links Kuching and Miri.

The development comprises a mixed array of residential homes, shop houses, commercial centre, high rise commercial buildings, industrial lots, schools and amenities.

Upon its full completion, Sibu Jaya will house a population of approximately 50,000 people. The township is a model township showcasing a combination of city amenities with countryside qualities.

The Sarawak Housing Development Commission, in collaboration with Amcorp Group, will invest about RM1 billion for the total development of the new Sibu Jaya township.

By 2023, the township’s population is expected to reach 60,000 and another 5,600 medium to high-end houses will be constructed to meet the rising demand for residential properties.

Additional 476 commercial and 83 industrial units will also be built. A RM17 million boulevard will also be constructed, eventually linking the new township to Lanang Road, the gateway to the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (Score) and the rest of the state.

A 9.3 hectares botanical garden, planted with indigenous timber and fruit trees like the “Dabai” or Sarawak black olive and durian, would also be developed.
