The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty. – Winston Churchill

No matter how dim things may look, always give life a fighting chance. Life is the greatest gift in the world and there’s no need to cut it short. Give yourself and others an opportunity to grow and you will be amazed at the results.

An opportunity by definition is “an appropriate or favourable time or occasion; a situation or condition favourable for attainment of a goal; a good position, chance or prospect for advancement or success.” (www.dictionary.com 2011)

The important thing is to seize an opportunity when it appears, because these chances will show up, but then often quickly disappear.

Opportunities won’t wait for you to just sit around; you have to take action right away. If you don’t, you might lose your chance to take advantage of it but if an “opportunity” comes up that could put you or others in danger, then obviously that’s not the kind of opportunity we’re talking about.

Hard work and perseverance are the bricks and mortar of building a successful career, but being able to attract and accept opportunities are the construction cranes that lift you to new heights.

Not all opportunities are good ones, that is why it is essential to be prepared as possible to determine if an opportunity is for real and fits our goals.

Not all opportunities to expand our horizons are profitable. Spreading ourselves too thin, or diluting our expertise may not always pay off.  It is easy to make the mistake of jumping on a sinking ship.

Always say yes when asked if we were interested in an opportunity, no matter who asks. We can always say no later, but once we say no, the opportunity is gone.

Letting everyone know that we are interested in opportunities keeps our options open. When anyone asks if you are interested always say yes. You can always add I would like to know more about it. This gives you a chance to evaluate the opportunity and risk involved.
